John Glick has signed on as CEO at Worthy Brewing, a six-year-old east side Bend brewery and the soon-to-be-opened downtown Taps & Tacos.

Glick was the Craft Brew Alliance vice president of emerging business in Portland, which is the result of a merger between two Pacific Northwest craft brewers, Redhook Brewery and Widmer Brothers Brewing. Kona Brewing Co. joined the alliance in 2010. He was unavailable on Friday for comment.

“After a lifetime in the beer business, this is my dream job,” Glick said in a prepared statement. “I’ve always wanted to run a craft brewery, and Worthy is exactly what I was looking for. They’re an emerging brand with a unique story, a diverse portfolio of balanced beers, a can-do culture and a first-class facility.”

Glick will be in charge of ramping up sales and simplifying the brand message, according to the company’s statement.

With more than 25 years of experience, Glick has a working knowledge of all aspects of the beer-making industry, according to the company’s statement.

Worthy Brewing opened in 2012 and was founded by Roger Worthington.
