Three months: The Cascade Lakes Swim Series, five open-water swim races ranging in distance from 500 to 5,000 meters held at Elk Lake July 27-29. The 5K race will double at the U.S. Masters Swimming National Open Water Championship. The event is open to swimmers 18 and older. Four months: The Sunriver Half Marathon for a Cause, a half marathon, 10K and 5K that will be held at Sunriver on Sept. 1 and 2. Entry costs $75 for the half marathon, which will be held on Sept. 2, $55 for the 10K and $45 for the 5K. Both of the shorter races will be held on Sept. 1. Five months: The Oregon 12/24, a 12-hour or 24-hour relay (or individual, if that’s your style) mountain bike race that will be held on an 11-mile loop at Wanoga Sno-park Sept. 29 and 30. Registration costs $45 to $500, depending on the race and division entered, and is available at http://oregonmtb24.com.

Six months: Happy Girls Sisters, a trail half marathon and road 5K for women, which will be held in Sisters on Nov. 3.
