This week in show announcements, it’s fusion and funk and indie rock (oh my). Read on for details:

• The sixth Newberry Event Music & Arts Festival to Defeat MS returns July 27 through 29 at DiamondStone Guest Lodges with headliner Lettuce.

The Boston funk/jam band, which performed at the Midtown Ballroom in March 2017, will headline July 28. The rest of the lineup announced this week also leans in a funk direction. Artists include Pimps of Joytime; Five Alarm Funk; John Craigie; Talbott Brothers; Pat Simmons Jr. (son of Doobie Brothers’ Pat Simmons); The Sextones; Con Brio; HoneyHoney; The Talbott Brothers; Sammy Miller and The Congregation; Normal Bean Band and The Love Family; Jeff Pevar Hendrix Project; and Deja Neaux. Locals Natty Red, Bobby Lindstrom, Melody Guy and the Newberry Family Band will also perform.

The event, co-organized by DiamondStone owners Doug and Gloria Watt, is a fundraiser for the Oregon chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Gloria Watt was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than 30 years ago.
