That they outhit their opponent Monday night was of little consolation to the Bend Elks.
Five errors by the Elks helped Victoria to a 6-0 West Coast League victory in the opening game of a three-game series at Vince Genna Stadium. The loss was the sixth straight and 12th in the last 13 games for Bend.
The Elks had five hits to the HarbourCats’ four. But one of Victoria’s hits was a three-run triple by Harrison Spohn in the fifth inning that gave the visitors their final margin.
The series continues Tuesday night — a $2 Tuesday — and concludes Wednesday.
