Sisters artist Paul Alan Bennett brings to life our 2018 theme, Creative Trails. From the age of nine, Bennett knew he wanted to be an artist. He felt art gave him permission to invent and create. Bennett attended the Maryland Institute of Art for his BFA and received his MA from the University of La Verne in Athens, Greece. His awards are numerous and his work resides at the University of Eastern Oregon and Central Oregon Community College. In 2006, Pendleton Woolen Mills produced 16 of his images as tapestries. His paintings are known for their unique “knitted” look. Knitting and weaving are common to all cultures, so his style lends itself well to incorporating his interests in travel, folk art, and art history. You can see more of his work, including posters, cards, bags, and art leggings, on his website, paulalanbennett.com.
Get your copy of the 2018 quilt show poster autographed by Bennett at the Stitchin’ Post on Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
