Ian Boswell, a 27-year-old Bend cyclist, was named Wednesday to the Team Katusha-Alpecin lineup for the 2018 Tour de France. This will be Boswell’s first time riding in cycling’s most iconic race.

This year’s Tour de France will begin July 7 in Noirmoutier-en-l’Île on the west coast of France and conclude July 29 in Paris.

Boswell, who previously raced with Team Sky, signed with Katusha-Alpecin, a Swiss cycling team, in August 2017. Boswell is the only American cyclist of the eight announced riders in the lineup.
