Cheeney

Ed and Pam (Kowalczyk) Cheeney, of Bend, celebrated their 50th wedding with a four-week trip through Portugal, Spain, France and Poland.

The couple married June 22, 1968, at St. Joseph’s Polish Catholic Church in Denver. They have two children, Chad (and Anne), of Durango, Colorado and Eric (and Angela), of Bend, and four grandchildren.

Mr. Cheeney received a bachelor’s degree in business from Regis College in Denver and worked in administration and finance at St. Charles Health System for 29 years until his retirement in 2011. He volunteers at St. Charles and for St. Vincent de Paul in Redmond. Mrs. Cheeney graduated from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Denver and worked as a registered nurse at St. Charles for 34 years before retiring in 2011 as the pre-surgery clinic manager. She volunteers for Volunteers in Medicine in Bend. The couple enjoy church activities, traveling and visiting with family, especially Mrs. Cheeney’s 99 1/2 year old father, Lawrence Kowalczyk.

They have lived in Bend for 42 years.
