PORTLAND — The Bend Elks’ first trip to the Rose City turned out to be laden with thorns.
In Sunday night’s finale of the Elks’ first series in Portland against the West Coast League’s newest addition, Bend lost 6-1 at Walker Stadium as the Pickles completed a convincing sweep of the three-game set.
Sunday’s game concluded the first half of the WCL season for the Elks (7-20), who start the second half Monday night at home in the opening game of a three-game series against the Walla Walla Sweets at Vince Genna Stadium.
