Bend High grad named Ducks’ director of soccer operations — Former Bend High and University of Oregon soccer player Maryn Beutler was named the Ducks’ director of operations by UO women’s soccer head coach Kat Mertz on Monday. Beutler won state titles with Bend in 2008 and 2009, and she played 78 games as a midfielder for the Ducks from 2012 to 2016, scoring eight goals. Since graduating from Oregon in 2016, she has coached girls teams with the Eastside Timbers soccer club of Gresham and played for the Beaverton-based Westside Timbers of the Women’s Premier Soccer League, a developmental amateur league.
