OTTAWA, Ontario — Mitch Modin, a 23-year-old Mountain View High School graduate and former University of Oregon decathlete, finished second at the Pan American Combined Events Cup, held Tuesday and Wednesday at Terry Fox Stadium. Modin finished the decathlon with 7,495 points.

Americans swept the podium as Scott Filip won with 7,643 points and Jack Flood finished third with 7,376. The competition also included athletes from New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and Ecuador.
