June 2, 1933 – June 27, 2018

Travis Eugene Robison of La Pine, Oregon, passed away June 27, 2018, following a long battle with a variety of debilitating ailments. He passed at home surrounded by family and friends.

A private internment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery with a memorial service following at a later date.

Travis was born in Lilly, Illinois on June 2, 1933, the 7th of eleven children. He had a spirit for adventure from a very young age, spending time hunting, fishing and gathering mushrooms. He loved being out in nature. He left home as a teen to become a professional boxer, and another time to join the National Guard. Each was before age 17. His Momma located him and had him brought home. He had two brothers actively engaged in Korea around the same time. Travis ultimately enlisted in the United States Marines, earning rank of Corporal. Travis waited for his bride to be and they wed in 1955, and had been married for over 62 years.

Travis worked for Caterpillar in Illinois before booming out west to work as an Ironworker to support his own growing family. Travis and Phyllis had seven children. The family moved to Salem, Oregon from Los Angeles, California, in the height of Tom McCall’s “Visit but DON’T STAY” campaign. He stayed. He and his wife retired to La Pine 28 years ago. He loved La Pine and the life they built here. Travis died in his home and is with the Lord, we believe, reuniting with his Momma and Dad and many siblings in Heaven.

Travis was preceded in death by his dad, Travis Robison; momma, Gladys Osman; beloved stepdad, Henry Osman; siblings, Esther Mae Reeves, Ethel Lillian Swanson, Elmo Alfred Robison, Virginia Louise White, Perry Ray Robison, Arlene Marie Reeves, and Charles Wesley Osman.

Travis is survived by siblings, Robert Lee Robison of Keizer, Henry Thomas Osman of Mackinaw, Il, and Carol Leota Huff of Minier, Il, his bride, Phyllis Robison, seven children, Teresa Jean (John) Thomas of La Pine, Pamela Ann (Clint) Barber of Canby, Roberta Lynn (Dale) Kinsey of Elk Grove, Tammy Ruelynn (Laine) Emmons of Longview, Donald Eugene (Gina) Robison of La Pine, Travis Lee (Karen) Robison of Silverton and Robert Dale (Monica) Robison of Keizer, 23 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
