Running club or riding club? Two diverse groups, to say the least. One is all about human power. The other concentrates on horsepower. But both groups have a common goal—offering family-oriented, enjoyable physical activity, running or riding.

Prineville Oregon Running Klub (PORK)

The Prineville Oregon Running Klub was founded in 2009 to promote a healthy lifestyle for walkers, joggers, and runners of all ages and experience levels. Run like a Turkey and Wetlands Webfoot Waddle are two of their annual events, which benefit the Crook County Schools Cross-Country Program.

Regular weekly PORK group runs occur on Tuesdays at 6 pm at the Ward Rhoden Stadium track.

For Wednesday’s Recovery Run, runners meet at 5:45 pm, with a start time of 6 pm, in the parking lot behind Ochoco Brewing.

Sunday summer runs start at 7:30 am in the Starbucks parking lot on Third Street and Combs Flat Road.

Dogs on leash are welcome to join the Wednesday and Sunday runs.

Prineville Ridge Riders (PRR)

Since 1946, PRR has promoted fun and friendly equestrian events for people of all ages (from 2 to 70). Their membership includes singles and families who love horsemanship. Events include group trail rides, endurance rides, trail challenges, cattle sorting, clinics, tack sales, open horse shows, and more.
