December 15, 1945 – June 13, 2018
Donald Dale Richardson passed away June 13, 2018, in Eugene, Oregon. He was born December 15, 1945, along with his twin sister Deena in Sacramento, California, to Dale and Dorothy Richardson. He also had two half sisters from his Mother’s side, Bette and Bonnie.
He attended Thurston High School and graduated in 1964. Thurston High inducted him into the basketball Hall of Fame for his outstanding performance. After High School he enlisted with the National Guard for four years.
In 1977, he married Patricia Chidester and had his first daughter, Deena in 1978. Together they owned and operated Tumalo Stove Works in Walla Walla, Washington, and Bend, Oregon. Unfortunately they divorced in 1989. He then started planning for a new home to be built for him and his Mother in Bend, Oregon. In that time he met and married Theresa Pinette from 1990-1994. They welcomed a baby girl born in 1991 named Jenna.
Don had a great love for Chevy cars, racing motorcycles, drag racing, NASCAR, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, drinking Popov Vodka and smoking Marlboro cigarettes. His favorite meal hands down would consist of grilled rib eye steak, red potatoes, Caesar salad and cheesecake for dessert. A couple of his favorite songs were, Another One Bites the Dust by Queen, Keep Your Hands to Yourself by The Georgia Satellites and Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.
The family would like to thank the Bend Fire Department and EMT’s, caregivers from Spring Valley, Grace Manor and Gateway Gardens.
A private service is being held at Crane Prairie Reservoir.
