Bend median home price hits $449,000
The median price for a single-family home in Bend jumped to a record $449,000 last month. It was an 8.2 percent increase over the median price in May and nearly 10 percent higher than the median in June 2017.
In Redmond, the median price rose to $298,000 in June, according to a report from the Beacon Appraisal Group of Redmond. The figure was an increase of about 1 percent over the median price both last month and in June 2017.
Bend’s median price had never reached $449,000, at least as far back as January 1997, according to figures from Beacon Appraisal. It was $415,000 in May and $409,000 in June 2017.
The number of single-family homes sold in Bend last month, 261, was 38 more than in May and 15 more than in June 2017.
The median price is the midpoint, with half the sales above and half the sales below.
Redmond’s median price in June was about $3,000 higher than the median prices in both May and in June 2017. Last month, 97 homes sold in Redmond, six more than in May and seven more than in June 2017, the Beacon report stated.
