The Elks scored six unanswered runs to close out Saturday night’s game with the Yakima Valley Pippins at Vince Genna Stadium.
However, the Pippins had already scored more than enough runs before Bend’s outburst, and the Elks fell 8-6.
Elks pitchers Daniel Naughton and Ryan Mets combined to allow four eight runs on eight hits in five innings. Brennan Patterson pitched four shutout innings in mop-up duty.
Elijah Greene torched Bend, as he went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Sean Coffey went 3-for-4 for the Elks.
