Third measles case — Health officials in northwestern Oregon say a third person has tested positive for measles. Multnomah County health officials said the person, who was not vaccinated, tested positive Friday. Officials said the person had close contact with another person diagnosed with measles July 6. Health officials said about 500 people have been exposed to a confirmed case of measles in the Portland area. Officials said those with the highest risk of catching measles are those who aren’t vaccinated, pregnant women, infants under 12 months old and people with weakened immune systems
Suspicious park death — Police say they are investigating a suspicious death that took place at a Salem park. The Salem Police Department said officers responded to McKay School Park on Friday afternoon on the report of an injured man. Officers arrived and said they found a man who had died. Police said the cause of death has not been determined and the man has not been identified. The park was closed temporarily while the scene was investigated. Detectives are asking that anyone with information contact the Salem Police nonemergency number at 503-588-6123.

Fire forces campers to evacuate — Firefighters responded to a small fire east of Salem in Silver Falls State Park that forced the evacuation of a YMCA youth camp Friday. Chris Havel, with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, said the fire forced 185 children and staff with a YMCA youth camp staying at Camp Silver Creek to move to the park’s office so they could be picked up by family members. The park remained open, but officials say some backcountry trails near the fire were closed. The fire was less than 6 acres when the youth camp was evacuated. More than 100 firefighters and support personnel were dispatched.
Motorcycle club murder charges — A federal grand jury in Oregon charged three members and associates of the Gypsy Joker Outlaw Motorcycle Club with murder, kidnapping and racketeering. The four-count indictment was returned June 28 and unsealed Friday. Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Cronan said the three allegedly kidnapped and killed fellow member Robert Huggins, of southeast Portland. Huggins’ body was found with nails shot through his boots, an X carved on his body and his teeth knocked out. Police said Huggins had been the club’s treasurer and had allegedly stolen money from the club. Charged were Mark Leroy Dencklau, 58, of Woodburn; Earl Deverle Fisher, 48, of Gresham; and Tiler Evan Pribbernow, 37, of Portland. The kidnapping and slaying occurred between June 30 and July 1 in 2015.
