KELOWNA, British Columbia — Bend led for a majority of the game but its bullpen was not able to slam the door, as the Kelowna Falcons topped the Elks 5-4 Thursday night.
After trailing for the first 61⁄2 innings, the Falcons (8-4 second half, 22-16 overall) tied it up in the bottom of the seventh and took the lead in the eighth on a Cody Crowder RBI single off Elks reliever Coen Wynne. Bradley Gonzales was charged with the run and took the loss for Bend.
Zac Bygum picked up the win for Kelowna.
Alex Pallios went 2-for-4 for the Elks (4-10, 11-30) with an RBI double in the first inning for the game’s first run. Chris Diehl also had an RBI double — his came in the fourth inning to make it a 2-0 ballgame.
Sam Muskat pitched one-run ball into the fifth despite constant traffic on the base paths. He struck out four, walked three and allowed four hits.
