KELOWNA, British Columbia — The Falcons completed a three-game sweep of the Elks Friday night by a final score of 7-4 at Elks stadium (not to be confused with Vince Genna Stadium in Bend).

A bright spot for Bend was former Ridgeview High School star Collin Runge, who hit a pair of solo home runs. Nick Roberts also had two hits for the Elks to go along with an RBI. Jerred Seamons and Ian Nowak each doubled.

Elks starting pitcher Daniel Naughton pitched well, but not well enough. He allowed three runs on five hits over five innings, but left the game with the team behind so he took the loss. Ryan Mets struggled over just 2⁄3 of an inning. He allowed four runs — three of which were earned — on two hits and a walk. Coen Wynne shined in mop-up duty, where he cruised through 21⁄3 innings of shutout ball on just one hit. He struck out one batter.

Falcons starter Jared Akin got the win. He mowed down the Elks for 52⁄3 innings. Bend managed one earned run on five hits and fanned four times against Akin.

The Falcons’ RBIs were provided by four batters. Matt Voelzke knocked in two runs on two hits in five at bats. Trent Tinglestad also had two RBIs as he went 2-for-4 with a walk. Matt Land from Eugene also had two RBIs. Finally, Dan Pruitt plated one run.

The Elks will get a change of scenery as they travel to Bellingham on Saturday.
