Charles Beith and Monet Bossert, of Sunriver, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to their vineyard in Portugal this past spring.

The couple met on the lift line at Mt. Bachelor on Christmas Day 1986 and were married July 9, 1988 at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond. They have one child, Marlena Beith, of Bend, who was married on July 14.

Mr. Beith attended the University of Iowa before being drafted into the military in 1967. He served two years in the U.S. Army infantry in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star Metal with an oak-leaf cluster and a V for valor. In 1973, he joined the Peace Corps and was stationed in Mali, West Africa, for two years. Mr. Beith worked in international contracting before settling in Central Oregon in 1978, where he owned and operated a contracting business for 32 years.

Ms. Bossert graduated from Duke University in 1982 with bachelor degrees in botany and zoology. She worked in a genetic engineering company in California for four years before moving to Bend. She worked for the Forest Service, then became the general manager for her husband’s business. The couple retired in 2016. Ms. Bossert was active in founding The Environmental Center in 1988 and the Sunriver Library in 1998. They are both past presidents of the Rotary Club of Sunriver and actively serve in Rotary International.

They have lived in Sunriver for 30 years.
