Jacqueline Alice Ralph, age 75, of Bend, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Monday evening, July 16, 2018.

Jacqueline Alice Butts was born in 1942 in Washington, D.C. The family eventually settled in Southern California where she met and married Gordy at the young age of 16. A few years later, they had a son, Jeff and adopted a baby daughter, Denise. Shortly after that, Jackie’s younger brother Ray moved in with the family. In 1967, they all moved to Salem, OR where they lived until they moved to Bend, OR in 1976. She and Gordy went their separate ways in 1982.

Jackie tried her hand at different things and ended up living in Hawaii for a few years where she did her most favorite job, marrying couples on the beach. They would always get a kick out of meeting her as she arrived on her Segway, her favorite mode of transportation. She eventually settled back in Bend about 15 years ago with her best friend in tow, Sammy her orange kitty. She continued marrying people for a number of years and did a lot volunteer work for Meals On Wheels, St. Charles Hospital and various other organizations.

Jackie enjoyed the Central Oregon lifestyle where she could explore nature at its finest. She loved all things bright and colorful, from flowers, to artwork on her walls, to the clothing and hats she wore. Jackie touched so many people with her colorful and caring personality.

Jackie is survived by her younger brother, her son, two grandsons, one great granddaughter and her loving cat, Priscilla.

There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, July 25, from 4-7 p.m. It is being held at Shevlin Park at the Aspen Meadow Shelter where light snacks and water will be provided. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Bend Spay and Neuter.
