Born in Eugene, and a long-time Bend and Stayton resident, John E. Spurgeon passed away peacefully on Monday July 16th of complications from lung cancer. It was his wish that his life be celebrated by friends and family, and that any donations would be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. There will be a celebration and remembrance of John and his life and the many shared memories of his friends and family and all are invited to attend a BBQ, feel free to bring your favorite chair, side dish and drink of choice, to Kimmel Park, 471 SE Fairview, Mill City, Oregon, on Saturday, July 28, from 1-5 p.m.
