Who: Mixed Media artist Patricia Freeman-Martin is featured this month at Hood Avenue Art in Sisters through Aug. 20.

Freeman-Martin’s works capture the essential icons of the western landscape in each piece. Growing up on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon, she returned to the state and to the ranch lifestyle after five years in Manhattan. This, coupled with her current work during foaling season at Juniper Ridge Ranch ensures that she has plenty of inspiration to draw upon. Her exploration of printmaking techniques with press and “no-press” on fabric along with paintings and drawings are featured in the gallery she helped found.
