An alleged drunken driver in Bend crashed her car into a tree early Wednesday morning, causing injuries to four passengers.

Dayton Sauer, 21, of Bend, was arrested and booked on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, third-degree assault, reckless driving, reckless endangering and criminal mischief, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Sauer was reportedly speeding north at about 2:25 a.m. in the 56000 block of Snow Goose Road when she reached a curve in the road and crashed her green 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, the sheriff’s office said.

The front seat passenger, Julianne Pade, 20, of Bend, was seriously injured and flown by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend.

A rear seat passenger, Andrew Auguilera-Anderson, 21, of Salem, was also seriously injured and transported by ambulance to St. Charles Bend.

The other two rear passengers — Bend residents William Larson, 20, and Renea Sauer, 19 — had minor injuries and were given a courtesy ride by law enforcement to a residence in the area.

The crash and whether the vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts is still under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Sunriver Police, Sunriver Fire Department and La Pine Fire Department.
