Tommy Joe Griggs was born on May 9, 1960, in Martinez, California. He graduated from Calaveras High School in San Andreas, California, in 1978.

In 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985 and 1987, Tommy’s children, Sarah, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Joseph were born to he and his first wife, Holly.

In 1994, he and his family moved to Bend, Oregon. Tommy met his wife, Tempe, in 2000, and they married in 2004, when he became a stepfather to Sawyer.

Tommy was a hard-working man who spent most of his career in different forms of construction and car restoration. Most recently he felt very proud to work for Seven Peaks Paving. Tommy’s interests were countless. His greatest passions were for his Lord and Savior, his wife, six children, five grandchildren and his country.

This beloved man went home into the arms of God on Sunday, July 22, 2018, after a brave two year battle with cancer. He has left his family and friends with innumerable stories and very fond memories. He is survived by his wife, Tempe; his children, Sarah, Jacob, Elizabeth (Nick) Lopez, Rebecca, Joseph and Sawyer Stolz. His grandchildren, Faith, Joyce and Jesy Lopez, Byron Griggs and Wyatt Bates. Along with other loved members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Charles Griggs.

Tommy was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to include a reception at North Pointe Church, 63645 Scenic Drive (off of Cooley Road), Bend, Oregon 97701. Private interment following at Pilot Butte Cemetery.
