Maryon Allen, 92: A five-month U.S. senator for Alabama (after her husband died in office) with the worst absentee record in Senate history. Died Monday in Birmingham, Alabama.

Bill Loud, 97: A graduate of the University of Oregon and pioneer of reality television with the PBS broadcast called β€œAn American Family,” which documented the domestic drama of his affluent household. Died Thursday.

Alan Rabson, 92: A National Institutes of Health cancer researcher whose laboratory work with tumors in mice and rats helped advance the scientific understanding of several human diseases. Did July 4 of complications from cerebrovascular disease in New Jersey.
