The Bend Elks ended their 35-inning scoreless streak with a seven-run sixth inning, but it was not enough as they fell to the Wenatchee AppleSox 11-8 Saturday night at Vince Genna Stadium. It was Bend’s 14th loss in a row.

Former Ridgeview star Collin Runge kicked off the scoring for the Elks with his fifth home run of the summer. Runge finished the game with three RBIs. Nick Roberts and Chris Diehl knocked in one run apiece for Bend.

J.T. Schwartz led the offensive charge for the AppleSox. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Jacob Prater added a three-run homer of his own.

Defensively, the game was forgettable for both sides. The two teams combined for seven errors and allowed nine unearned runs.

Mikey Hooper took the loss for the Elks.

Alec Gomez improved to 2-0 for Wenatchee after pitching three-run ball over 51⁄3 innings.
