1929 – 2018
Doug was known to be a very sweet and loving man with an easy smile by those who knew him and those who cared for him at Regency Village of Bend, Heart and Home Hospice, and his favorite cafe – – – Cheerleaders. He will be greatly missed.
He was born in Myrtle Creek, Oregon to parents Joseph Harry Druliner and Elizabeth Mable (Gallagher) in 1929. He graduated from McMinnville High School and attended Lindfield College on a Football Scholarship.
He married Lorna Vanderhoof, who predeceased him in 2005, in November of 1962 in McMinnville, Oregon. He had two stepdaughters: Lauren Diane Beathe of Bend and Andrea Blum (husband Jack) of Sisters; a son from a previous marriage: David Druliner (wife Josie) of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; and had five grandchildren.
He worked as a heavy duty equipment operator for Union Local #701 for most of his working life. For that job, he and Lorna traveled throughout Oregon and to Washington during the restoration after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
In 1988, he and Lorna retired to Redmond and then the Powell Butte area. They enjoyed settling in Central Oregon after all their many travels. No services are planned at his request.
