Who: Mixed media artist Korey Gulbrandson’s work will be on display at Peterson Roth Gallery through August.

The self-taught Gulbrandson was born and raised in Portland and committed fully to his art in the late 90s. He focuses on a kind of sculptural painting, using many layers of wax, latex and other mediums to accumulate on the wooden canvas. He then carves out the design and torches it, using the heat to develop a desired texture and color.
