The city of Bend will hold an open house Monday to discuss upcoming road work on 14th Street between Albany and Galveston avenues, the middle section of a months long reconstruction project on 14th Street and Century Drive.

Century Drive between Simpson and Albany avenues was completely reconstructed earlier this summer, and work is ongoing on a section of 14th Street between Newport and Galveston avenues.

The city didn’t anticipate finishing the whole street this year, but a deal with developers on the west side of town that the City Council is expected to approve this fall will provide the money to rebuild the middle portion of the road. Councilors voted to continue with construction earlier in July.

Construction on the middle segment is expected to start Monday, with lane closures later in the fall.

Monday’s meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. at Westside Village Magnet School, 1101 NW 12th St.
