Exchange student notes

• Host families in the Mountain View High School area are needed for two 15-year-old boys, who are arriving from Spain and Thailand on Aug. 25 to spend the 2018-19 school year in Central Oregon. A total of 10 students from around the world who are part of Education First High School Exchange Year will be living and going to school in Bend, Redmond, Three Rivers and La Pine. Families with or without high school-aged children, retired couples, couples with no children, single adults and same-sex couples are welcome to host. The high school exchange program is operated by EF Educational Foundation for Foreign Study, Inc., a nonprofit designated by the U.S. Department of State. Reunion notes

• Redmond High School Class of 1973 is holding its 45th reunion Friday and Saturday. Friday is a gathering at Wild Ride Brewing, 332 SW 5th St., Redmond, from 5 to 10 p.m. in the group meeting area. Cash bar and food trucks will be on-site. Saturday is a buffet dinner at the VFW Hall, 491 SW Veterans Way, Redmond, from 5 to 10 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Cost is $30 per person, cash bar. FAN notes

• The Family Access Network received a $4,000 grant from the Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation to be used to provide 40 children and family members in Central Oregon with basic-need resources such as food, housing, clothing, healthcare and school supplies.
