John (Jack) David Moser, age 88, of Bend, Oregon, died peacefully at his daughters home in Tacoma, WA, on Monday, July 30, 2018. Jack was born January 26, 1930, in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Seymour (Tom); and son, John Moser Jr. (Janet); seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Sara (Archibald) Moser; and daughter, Elisabeth Keitges (Norm).
He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the service Jack married his wife Sara and started a family in Lovelock, Nevada, working on the family ranch. He would later graduate from Oregon State University with a degree in business and move to Washington State where he lived and worked as an insurance adjuster for over 25 years. Jack retired to Sunriver, Oregon, in 1993, where he pursued his two great passions-fly fishing and golf-routinely beating family members on Bend area golf courses.
Jack will be forever remembered for his kind gentle spirit, calming influence and perpetual smile. He would always state how important family was for him and how proud he was of his kids and grandkids.
To honor Jack’s wishes, the family will hold a private ceremony at his favorite fishing hole, light a “swisher sweet” cigar and put their fly lines in the water one more time. If you would like to honor Jack, the family asks donations be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
