• High Desert Food & Farm Alliance selected the following 2018 Local Food Champions, which are businesses that excel in sourcing local food and making contributions to the Central Oregon community:

Grocer: Central Oregon Locavore (runner-up — Melvin’s by Newport Avenue Market)

Restaurant: 123 Ramen (runners-up — Deschutes Brewery and Jackson’s Corner)

Food Truck: Dump City Dumplings (runner-up — EMW Fusion)

Specialty Food Items: Holm Made Toffee Co. (runner-up — Bonta Natural Artisan Gelato)

Honorable Mention: Ochoco Brewing Co.

• Black Goat Winery, 1829 NW Kelsey Lane, Terrebonne, filed an application July 27 with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission for a new outlet winery, which allows the licensee to import, bottle, produce, blend, store, transport and export wines, and allows wholesale and retail sales of malt beverages and wine for consumption on or off the licensed premises.

• Aspect Boards and Brews, 1009 NW Galveston Ave., Bend, filed an application July 30 with the OLCC for a change of ownership and a change of trade name of a business with a limited on-premises sale license, which allows the sale of malt beverages, wine and cider for consumption on the licensed premises and the sale of kegs of malt beverages for off-premises consumption.
