PGA Junior League Golf: Designed to bring a team sport atmosphere to golf, teams are composed of boys and girls age 14 and under. The league provides a structured environment for kids of all levels to compete and have fun while playing golf. Participants receive team jerseys, golf balls and bag tags. Players are offered six regular-season competitions on Saturday afternoons through June 16. Advanced skills are not required, but players must have their own clubs. Cost is $149 per player. Entries are open to amateur golfers with USGA Handicap Indexes of 36.4 or less for women, 10.0 or less for men, and 15.1 or less for senior men. Women’s Division limited to the first 24 sides, Men’s Division limited to the first 48 sides. Players must be at least 13 years old as of Aug. 24. Senior Men’s Division is limited to the first 24 sides, and players must be at least 50 years old as of Aug. 24. The low 16 sides from stroke play for women and senior men and the low 32 sides in the men’s division advance to the championship flight, and the remaining entrants will be placed in single-elimination match-play flights. Cost is $300 per team and includes one practice round and three competitive rounds as well as tee prizes. Entry deadline is Aug. 8. Sept. 29-30: Oregon Golf Association’s 91st OGA Team Championship at Black Butte Ranch. First round at Big Meadow course, second round at Glaze Meadow. Entries are open to teams of four male amateur golfers who are at least 13 years old as of Sept. 29. Format is 36-hole team stroke play with the low three of four individual gross scores from each day representing the team aggregate.
