A campaign manager with a history of legal issues, including at least one criminal conviction and two recent small-claims judgments in Deschutes County, is no longer working for county commission candidate Amy Lowes.
Lowes said she and former campaign manager Kristy Sinsara made a “mutual decision” about a week ago that Sinsara would leave the campaign. Sinsara, a Bend-based public relations consultant, had managed Lowes’ campaign since June.
Lowes initially responded to questions about Sinsara’s past by saying her experiences were an asset to the campaign because they showed Sinsara knew how to handle controversies. The experiences included a dropped lawsuit from Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, who alleged that Sinsara refused to return access to his social media accounts.
Sinsara wrote a campaign Facebook post introducing and defending Sinsara prior to the publication of a Bulletin story detailing her legal issues, Lowes said. She said she, Sinsara and other campaign staff worked together on a second campaign post describing that article as “obviously a politically motivated personal attack.”
