Murphy

Joe and Lynn (Altier) Murphy, of Bend, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a vacation in the Hamptons in New York with their children and families in July, and will celebrate with siblings and friends at the end of the month in Bend.

The couple were married Aug. 31, 1968, in Youngstown, Ohio. They have two children, Kristen (and Gerard) Devlin, of Stockton, New Jersey, and Jeremy (and Jessica), of Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and six grandchildren.

Mr. Murphy retired in 1998 from Eastman Kodak Co. where he spent the first eight years at headquarters in Rochester, New York, and 22 years overseas serving as manager of seven countries’ accounts. Mrs. Murphy taught elementary school in Ohio and New York before moving overseas to be with her husband. She was involved in education in several international schools and worked with children and adults. The couple are avid golfers and tennis players and participate in church and community activities in Bend and Palm Desert, California.

They have lived in Central Oregon for 20 years.
