Huck

Karen “Kake” and Will Huck, of Bend, will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with their traditional anniversary breakfast at The Original House of Pancakes. The couple were married Aug. 27, 1973, at City Hall in Pocatello, Idaho. The wedding was held well before any family members ever knew they were considering it. They opted to have children of the four-legged variety and have two poodles.

Mrs. Huck holds a doctorate in communications from the University of Utah after earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Idaho State University. She taught speech communication at Central Oregon Community College for 25 years before retiring in 2014. She is the author of a collection of poetry entitled “Murderous Glamour.”

Mr. Huck received master’s degrees in literature and divinity from the University of Chicago and taught literature at Idaho State University for 33 years. He retired in 1990 and moved to Bend to join his wife, who had gotten a job and moved here first.

They have traveled extensively, are active in Trinity Episcopal Church and enjoy reading and playing with their dogs.

They have lived in Bend for 28 years.
