Summit wins team titles in Prineville race

PRINEVILLE —
Running through fields, water and dirt, Mountain View’s Kelsey Swenson won her fourth straight title at the Jere Breese Memorial Ranch Stampede in Prineville on Saturday.
Swenson finished with a time of 19 minutes, 50 seconds, on a 5,000-meter course that featured several sections of calf-deep creek water which the runners had to negotiate.
Kelsey Gripekoven of Summit finished second in 20:22, and Azza Borovicka-Swanson, also of Summit, took third in 21:10.
Summit won the girls team competition with 20 points, Mountain View finished second with 71 points, and Redmond took third with 113 points in the seven-team field.
In the boys race, Zachry Weber of Summit won with a time of 18:01, just 22 seconds ahead of teammate and second-place Joseph Sortor, who finished in 18:23. Sam Hatfield, also a Storm runner, took third in 18:57.
Summit won the boys team competition with 17 points, Mountain View was second with 60 points, and Redmond finished third with 101 points.
