Betty Jane (Hatfield) Endicott, 93, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, August 17, 2018, in Redmond, OR, as a result of age related maladies. Betty was born January 16, 1925, in Electra, TX.
She married Everett Endicott, in 1943 in Mission, TX. They raised three children, Carole, Ben (Tal) and George. Everett was discharged from the Army Air Corps after WWII, and they returned to Redmond where they lived for several years.
Betty was an avid bridge player, and was a charter member of a bridge club that stayed in existence for seventy years. She was the last surviving original member. Everett was recalled to active duty service, and he and Betty spent many years traveling around the United States and Asia as part of his military duties, while she kept the home fires burning, raising their three children. Betty returned to Redmond with their youngest in 1968, while Everett served his last year in the military in Vietnam.
After his retirement, and for the next many years, they traveled extensively all across the United States and Canada, Europe, and even Mexico with a travel trailer. The Endicott’s celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on July 29, 2018.
Betty is survived by husband, Everett Endicott, Redmond, OR; Carole (Endicott) Keins (Ed), Westford, MA; Mayor George Endicott (Krisanna), Redmond, OR; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, Ben (Tal) Endicott, who passed June 9, 1995.
Graveside services will be held at Redmond Memorial Cemetery, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Barry Campbell from Highland Baptist Church will officiate. Funeral services are provided by Redmond Memorial Chapel, Redmond, OR. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
