Cold War Kids return to Bend

It’s been a decade since Los Angeles indie rock darling Cold War Kids last played in Bend (in August 2008, opening for Beck at Les Schwab Amphitheater). That’s no small amount of time, and the quintet has made good use of it, building an impressive catalog of bluesy, soul-inflected albums and scoring a hit in 2015 with anthemic stomper “First” from 2014’s “Hold My Home” album. Last year’s follow-up and love letter to the band’s hometown, “LA Divine,” is the group’s first with lead guitarist Dave Quon (nephew of Parlour singer-songwriter Mark Quon, in case that name looked familiar to local music heads), and continues to lean into the cleaner, pop-inspired sounds of “Hold My Home.” Catch the band’s return to Bend, this time as a headliner, at Oregon Spirit Distillers on Saturday with Canadian alt-rockers daysormay.

Cold War Kids, with daysormay: 6 p.m. Saturday; $30 plus fees; Oregon Spirit Distillers, 740 NE First St., Bend; bendticket.com or 541-382-0002.
