Get ready for a string-band invasion at the second (and final) Pickin’ & Paddlin’ show of the season, which takes place Thursday at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe. Seattle five-piece The Warren G. Hardings, which combines classic bluegrass along the lines of Bill Monroe with frenetic punk energy, will headline along with Portland soul-grass group Julie & The Wayves (the band was slated to play last summer’s final Pickin’ & Paddlin’ show, but had to bow out when the event was rescheduled due to pervasive wildfire smoke in the region — knock on wood for Thursday). Local band Blackstrap Bluegrass, which recently released its third album, “Closed Doors,” will also perform. Show up early for boat demos and songwriters in the round. All proceeds from ticket sales go to the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance.
Pickin’ & Paddlin’ with The Warren G. Hardings, Julie & The Wayves, Blackstrap Bluegrass: 3 p.m. Thursday; $10, free for ages 12 and younger; Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe, 805 SW Industrial Way, Bend; tumalocreek.com or 541-317-9407.
