Rabbi Rachel Cowan, 77: A leading innovator in three nontraditional movements in Judaism — helping couples navigate mixed marriage, designing “healing services” to comfort the sick and dying and injecting contemplative practices like meditation and mindfulness into religious life. Died Friday in New York of brain cancer.
