Sharon Dunagan-Jones, aged 72, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2018 at her home in Bend, Oregon. Sharon was born August 13, 1946, in Salem, Oregon, the daughter of Vernon Bennett Dunagan and Ruth Jean Fay. She grew up in Salem, Silverton, Rose Lodge, and Sweet Home, Oregon, graduating from Taft High School in Lincoln City.
Sharon received her social work degree from Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. During her life she lived in Oklahoma, Texas and Oregon, but spent most of the past 30 years in Salem, moving to Bend in 2013.
Sharon was married 3 times. While none of the relationships lived up to what she’d hoped for, they did give her the children and grandchildren that were the center of her life. In addition to raising her own children, largely as a single mother, she helped to raise many of her grandchildren and she was happiest when surrounded by family. Sharon enjoyed shopping, music, collecting antiques, and hats. She was a lifelong animal lover and spent much of her time with her beloved dog, Diva.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Teresa Davidson, Colena McDougal, Sirena Ordonez, Natasha Jones and Sherry Sprout; her grandchildren, Silena Curry, Brandy Zims, Heather Garcia, Mitchel Didlot Jr., Nickolas Didlot, Amber Davidson, Donald Didlot, Cisco Davidson, Mariah Soto and Joshua Soto; and her 14 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father. Vernon Dunagan, mother. Ruth Jean Moser, daughter, Mary Didlot-Soto, and son, Mitchel Didlot.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sept 9th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Diamond conference room at the Holiday Inn formerly the Red Lion in Salem, Oregon on Market Street. There will be a private graveside service at Miller’s Cemetery in Silverton, Oregon.
