Who: Bronze sculptor Mick Doellinger’s work is on display through Oct. 4 at Mockingbird Gallery. Growing up in Australia, Doellinger was surrounded by wildlife, sparking a lifelong interest in nature and its inhabitants. A former rodeo cowboy, taxidermist and hunting guide, he gained an understanding of animal physiology and has since employed that knowledge to bronze work. His approach to art affords a certain freedom from strict science, allowing him create in a much looser style. His work has been featured in several national publications and galleries.
