Die Like Gentlemen to rock The Capitol

Portland sludge-metal quartet Die Like Gentleman has had a productive two-plus years — that’s the same amount of time since the band’s last Bend show at Third Street Pub in 2016. Shortly after that date, the band dropped its third album, “The Quickening Light,” which served up plenty of epic riffs and thundering rhythms alongside ear-worm vocal hooks. (As the band states in its Facebook page bio: “If you slowly head-bang the whole time and then still have the song in your head later, we’re doing our job right.”) Last year’s three-song follow-up cassette, “Distinguished Company,” stretched the band’s prowess even further on covers of Phil Collins and Black Sabbath, plus a new original, the 10-minute-plus epic “The Nod.” The band returns to Bend, this time to play The Capitol, on Thursday with local hard-rocking favorites Strange Rover and Scary Busey (click here for more info on the benefit for Scary Busey’s drummer, Jamie “Boggy” Sykes).

Die Like Gentlemen, with Strange Rover, Scary Busey: 8:30 p.m. Thursday; $5; ages 21 and older; The Capitol, 190 NW Oregon Ave., Bend; thecapitolbend.com or 541-678-5740.
