A domestic disturbance Wednesday morning led to a fire in a travel trailer that left a man with life-threatening burns and a woman injured at an RV park east of Prineville, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 6:40 a.m. from a party at the Lakeshore RV Park on NE Ochoco Highway who said an elderly woman showed up at his site with blood on her face and then hung up. The party called back and said the trailer in the next space was on fire. A Crook County sheriff’s deputy and a Prineville Police officer forced their way into the burning trailer. They found Frank Young, 70, in the bedroom and pulled him to safety, according to a news release.

Young was taken to St. Charles Prineville and later flown to the burn unit at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with life threatening injuries, according to the news release. The Oregonian reported that Young died, but officials from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached Wednesday night to confirm the information. The woman was also taken to St. Charles with minor injuries.
