Cuban to donate to women’s groups — Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, will pay $10 million to women’s leadership and domestic violence organizations as part of an agreement with the NBA, the league said Wednesday. The payment and other staffing changes are the result of an investigation into workplace misconduct accusations against several employees. The investigation recommended hiring more women and creating a formal process for reporting misconduct. The Mavericks will file quarterly reports and begin workplace training for all staff. The report was based on information from more than 200 interviews with current and former employees. In February it was reported Terdema Ussery, former chief executive, engaged in “various acts of inappropriate conduct toward women,” and Earl Sneed, a former writer for the team’s website, had faced numerous allegations of domestic violence, including one guilty plea. Ussery spent 18 years with the Mavericks before taking a position with Under Armour in 2015. everal unnamed team employees accused Chris Hyde, a senior account executive, of looking at pornography at work, sharing those images with co-workers and rubbing himself below the belt. It was alleged Hyde’s behavior continued for six years after Cuban first warned him to stop looking at pornography at work. Employees in the reports said Cuban did not contribute to inappropriate behavior. After terminating the team’s human resources director’s contract, Cuban hired three women for high-profile positions.
