January 27, 1931 – September 10, 2018
The most wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Veryl Raymond Clouse, went to heaven on September 10, 2018, after being ill. He passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side.
Veryl was born to Alberta and John Clouse on January 27, 1931, in Ironton Ohio. He met the love of his life, Joan Lee Clouse (Davis) in eighth grade and became best friends. They were high school sweethearts and married in 1951.
Veryl served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959, then went to work for the United States Forest Service.
They adopted two children: son, Paul V. Clouse in 1961; and daughter, Lee Diane Clouse in 1965. In 1968, his family moved. Veryl was transferred to Bend, Oregon, to work for the United States Forest Service as Fire Chief for the Fort Rock District. He retired from there in 1986. Veryl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Lee Diane Kinkade (husband, Jared Kinkade); grandson, Jake Tyrell Severance (wife, Jasmine Severance); and four great-grandchildren, all of Bend, Oregon; and his sister, Judy Cunningham from San Diego, California. Veryl is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Lee Clouse; son, Paul Clouse; brother, Oran Clouse; and his parents, Alberta and John Clouse.
Donations can be sent to the Opportunity Center in Redmond, Oregon. We will be having a Celebration of Life for Joan and Veryl at their home of 50 years on September 22, 2018, at 2:00 pm.
