Daniel Francis McCool passed away Sept. 21, 2018.
He graduated from Bend High School in 1975, then attended Lane Community College for a masonry apprenticeship program. He made his career in brick masonry. He was also part owner of the Horse Butte Equestrian Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
He married Elizabeth Chandler McCool, chairwoman of Western Communications, which owns The Bulletin, in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McCool; daughters, Alex McCool, 31, St. Louis, Missouri, Kathleen Skatvold, 29, Bend, and Mallory McCool, 27, Los Angeles, California; siblings John McCool, Bend, Mike McCool, Eugene, Tim McCool, Portland, Bob McCool, Bend, Maureen Schlager, Waunakee, Wisconsin, and Connie McCool, Bend; 19 nieces and nephews; and 15 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings Tommy, Kathy, Mary Theresa, and Willy; his daughter, Kristen Elizabeth; and his parents, Norman Leo McCool and Dorothy Ann McCool.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Kayo’s Dinner House, 415 NE Third St., Bend.
