SeepeopleS hails from the Portland on the other side of the country, but sounds like it would be right at home in our Portland. The band, the brainchild of songwriter Will Bradford, has kept things delightfully weird for nearly two decades now as “your anti-genre professionals since 2001,” per the band’s website. How you classify this band depends on your entrance point. The five songs on 2017’s “Hate” EP alone cover righteously angry punk (“New American Dream”), ’90s alt-rock (“Just Like the Animals”) and folk-y dream pop (“Scapegoat,” “Burning Bridge”); while the band’s most recent full-length, 2015’s “Dead Soul Sessions,” touched on psychedelia and hip-hop. The group, which counts members of Dave Matthews Band and Phish among its collaborators, will play The Capitol on Sunday with fellow Portland, Maine, band theWorst and local group Dingo Factory.
