Realtors association will host debates

The Central Oregon Association of Realtors will begin a series of debates for local elections on Monday.
Debates will focus on housing-related topics, including land use, infrastructure, taxes and transportation. They start Monday at 1 p.m. with a Deschutes County Commission debate.
A debate for Oregon’s 53rd House district, which surrounds Bend, is Sept. 17. The Bend mayor’s debate follows Sept. 27.
Bend City Council candidates will debate Oct. 1, and candidates for Redmond City Council and mayor will debate Oct. 11.
Candidates for the Bend-based 54th House District will debate Oct. 15.
All debates are free and begin at 1 p.m., and all but the Redmond City Council debate will be held in the association’s classroom at 2112 NE Fourth Street in Bend. The Redmond debate will be in the upstairs room of Geno’s Italian Grill in Redmond.
